On 1st January 1908, the crew of the British Imperial Antarctic Expedition – led by Ernest Shackleton – set sail from Lyttleton Harbour, New Zealand aboard the Nimrod, bound for the coldest place on Earth. Enduring bitter conditions, beset by difficulties and existing on depleted rations during their 1260 mile trek, the team were forced to turn back just 97 miles from the South Pole — setting a new record for the most southerly point reached by any expedition.
One hundred years later, three descendants of the original crew retraced their ancestors’ footsteps and completed the journey to the South Pole. The 21st century expedition was kitted out in rugged, outdoor-tested apparel created especially by Timberland, including high performance outerwear and Smartwool™ base layers.
Our task was to create the Look and Feel presenter which captured the essence of the expedition and explained Timberland’s involvement in the journey. The presenter is an important commercial tool that is used by Timberland’s sales team to sell the collection into retailers.

Zola's our Rhodesian Ridgeback who cruises our barn from 9 to 5. We fitted her with a webcam to find out what she really gets up to.
